Lynn’s wacky decor (ugly lamps, anyone?) and down-home cooking make this fun place a local favorite. Lunch and dinner options include walnut-crusted chicken, roasted turkey, meatloaf, catfish, and of course, hot brown. Rounding out the menu are soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, chili, and pasta. Breakfast is served all day and includes a host of different omelets and egg dishes, as well as French toast (made with cinnamon-swirl bread grilled in vanilla nutmeg batter) and pancakes. Try the crunch-cakes, multigrain pancakes filled with granola. The popular breakfast burrito is a flour tortilla filled with black-bean chili, cheddar cheese, scrambled eggs, sour cream, and Lynn’s own salsa. While kids will no doubt enjoy the hot chocolate, the bourbon ball milkshake is a decidedly adult affair.
Owner Lynn Winter was a custom woodworker before she entered the restaurant business, and she’s now also a practicing Happiness Coach. Her outlook on life is a bit unique — just like the restaurant’s quirky gift shop, the World of Swirl. If you go on the weekend, get there early or make reservations. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner served daily.
