With a waterfront deck and indoor dining, too, JJ’s Big Chill, as this popular Key Largo restaurant is known, manages to feel like a party to parents and a playground to kids (always a good thing). There’s a great kids’ menu, with things like chicken fingers, little pieces of fried mahi (fish fingers), baked mahi plates with French fries and vegetables, grilled cheese sandwiches and mini cheeseburgers. Have everyone change into bathing suits to play in the waterfront pool while waiting for the food to arrive tableside (day passes cost $10 per person — five dollars of which can be put toward your food bill). And kids love playing the “claw game” to see if they can win a lobster (the restaurant cooks it for you if you win it). Don’t miss the Key lime pie and apple cobbler for dessert. And bring your own towels if you plan to swim with the gang.
