The locals consistently vote Huey’s the best burger in town, and there’s a good reason for that. The world-famous Huey burger is big (a third of a pound), juicy, perfectly seasoned, and well dressed with fresh lettuce and tomatoes. In addition to its classic burger menu, Huey’s also has a heart-healthy menu offering low-fat burgers (and a low-fat veggie burger, as well). Sandwiches, soups, and salads round out the menu. The signature dessert is the rockslide — a caramel-topped brownie covered with brownie cubes, toasted pecans, drizzled-chocolate sauce, and a scoop of French vanilla ice cream.
Huey’s has been around for more than 40 years, and in that time, the restaurant has developed some fun customs that kids love. The burgers and sandwiches come with frilly toothpicks, and diners here are encouraged to use their drink straws like blowguns and shoot their toothpick into the ceiling. Look up when you come in the door and you’ll see that the ceiling is covered! Huey’s also allows patrons to write on the walls (or on any surface you choose), and they even supply your kids with special pens to leave their mark. Huey’s has six Memphis locations and is open for lunch and dinner only.
