All plates are shared, and there’s no menu — you’ll eat whatever the chef is cooking the night you visit. This typically includes oven fried chicken, ham, crab imperial, potatoes, corn fritters, candied carrots, green beans and more, preceded by warm bread (with apple butter), spiced peaches and salad, and followed by your choice of a dessert (try the apple crisp with ice cream). Best of all, particularly for families, the food starts to come out almost a soon as you sit down (and should you have to wait, cheese and crackers are available to snack on), preventing antsy eaters from tears.

Hickory Bridge Farm is open 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 12 to 3 p.m. on Sundays.
