You won’t find any pretentions at Finn’s, a Block Island institution known for its fried seafood and raw bar just steps from the ferry terminal at Old Harbor. We’re talking boiled lobster, stuffed clams and chowder, and of course breaded-and-fried fisherman’s platters. Prime seating is located on the outdoor patio, which virtually defines summer dining on the island; if you aren’t lucky enough to score a spot there, grab some food to go at the window and head upstairs for overflow seating on the deck (without table service). Inside, the restaurant has a convivial bar scene.
