It’s a classic, retro diner, but DJ’s Taste of the ‘50s is one of few restaurants with outdoor seating in Lancaster, and it’s guaranteed to please all palates. Servers, who wear poodle skirts and vintage blouses, serve burgers, melts, sandwiches and wraps, coupled with fries in heaping portions. Other entrees, such as meatloaf, are also available, as are salads and a kid’s menu, which includes chicken fingers, hot dogs and the like. After your meal, order a milkshake or ice cream cone.
DJ’s Taste of the 50’s also serves breakfast; it’s open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Thursday and Sunday, and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Arrive before 5 on summer weekends — the restaurant’s small seating area fills up quickly for dinner.
