Open since 1924 in the Federal Hill area of Providence, Angelo’s Civita Farnese is a family-owned Italian restaurant that has been serving up delicious fare for decades. Menus consist of budget-friendly options that are sure to please all ages. The eggplant parmesan is delicious, as are the veal and peppers. Guy Fieri agrees, as he’s given Angelo’s the seal of approval via his “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” TV show. Top off lunch or dinner with homemade brownies and ice cream, or cannoli with a homemade filling.
While visiting Angelo’s, be sure to let the kids put a quarter in the machine that operates the train that runs overhead. It will keep them entertained while waiting for the food to arrive. Plus, the money is all donated to charity.
Angelo’s is open Monday through Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.
