Stayed here 2 times and would have been 3 but they were booked up. Great parking, nice staff, with breakfast and evening drinks. Rooms are clean and well kept, with full kitchens. If you are staying in Birmingham, this hotel is a way to avoid the downtown hotels and still be in downtown. Convenient on 20th street and easy exit to the back of the hotel without needing to leave on 20th Street.

This has been my "go to" hotel when in Birmingham for business. I was shocked at how unkept the room was on this stay. Floors were generally dirty, hair all over bathroom, and a hint of smoking in this room somewhat recently.

I arrived late and had tons going on the next morning so I decided to tough it out. In addition to this, my lock on the door didn't work and it took every bit of an hour for someone to figure out how to let me in.

Needless to say, I checked out the next morning and checked into the new Fairfield Inn down the street. I was upgraded immediately and welcomed very nicely. I'm a lifetime Titanium with Marriott so I've learned when it's time to move on from a favorite spot.

I can only hope that a remodel is on the horizon because it's needed. Clean rooms and great hospitality are what makes Marriott my choice. Please bring it back this hotel and I will surely return.
