As I was pleasantly surprised by Red Roof inn Palm coast Fla. Red Roof in Binghamton is clean ,fresh and convenient. Quiet yet just across from Mall. Nice atmosphere around motel landscape is well kept. Good work Red Roof. If breakfast is up to standard I wont need to write another comment . Lets see in the morning.

Our first impression when we arrived at our room at the Red Roof Inn, Johnson City, NY for parent’s weekend at SUNY Binghamton was that the person who had been cleaning the rooms had left a large garbage bag between our room and the next. They came back shortly for the bag, but left a large puddle of milk from the leaking bag right outside our door. I waited for them to come back, but they didn’t, so I used the ice bucket and filled it with water to get ride of the milk, which probably would have started to stink because it was a mild day. I also didn’t want to track the milk into the room. The room itself was very musty. Not a problem, I’ll open the window, sorry, the window won’t open, so I had to leave the door ajar to get some fresh air. As we unpacked, we were going to put some stuff in the safe, but that wasn’t working (I later found out that the safe was an additional charge and had to be set up through the front desk, never heard of that before). Onto the bathroom which I can only describe as filthy. The tub hadn’t been scrubbed and was visibly dirty, the vent was not secured to the wall and was partially hanging out and the toilet had a ring around the water line, obviously no one had scrubbed it with a toilet brush. One bath towel had a stain on it which looked like blood, time to throw that one out. Went to get ice, but the machine closest to the room was out or broken, had to check at the front desk to find where another one was and luckily, that was working. To top things off, as we left for dinner around 6:30 pm, still light out, one of the hotel guests was urinating in the parking lot about forty feet from the hotel lobby where I’m sure there was a bathroom. Good points: The staff at the front desk were very friendly, close to campus, near an excellent Wegman’s, just down the street. Stayed the night, but won’t be back.
