On a recent trip to the middle Keys, and due to a misunderstanding with a different venue, I discovered on a Saturday afternoon that I had no place to spend the night. As I said, it was Saturday. Furthermore, Lobster season just opened. So, the accommodations I found using search engines were showing limited availability and high prices. I made a few phone calls and got the same results. So, I was glad (and relieved) when I found the Ranch House in Marathon had a room available for a very reasonable rate. The young woman that helped me was personable and mentioned that her grandmother owns the motel. I checked in and was thrilled with the room! While somewhat small and the furnishings are, perhaps, a little spartan (no headboard and and a desk chair rather than an armchair), the room was very fresh and clean! The bed was comfortable, the towels were plush, and I loved the shower! The Ranch House is a family-owned and operated business and their pride in the place is evident and justified. I highly recommend it.

We were pleasantly surprised by the comfortable, clean, modern (updated) room at a reasonable price. The accommodations suited our needs perfectly. The bed was super comfortable. The air conditioner was on and the room was cool when we arrived. The room was small, but ample size for two people. It was immaculately clean and updated nicely. The exterior was very cute. It was easy to find and the owners were very friendly. Outdoor seating provided a comfortable spot to hang out. Would definitely recommend this motel for anyone wanting a comfortable, affordable room.
