Knowing that it was a low star rated hotel, I made my reservation. I needed a quick and adorable weekend stay in lovely Sarasota.
I’m traveling with my son and husband. We had a rocky start.
We had to be reassigned rooms because the door lock wasn’t working. This meant several trolls to the front desk under the rain (not the hotel’s fault)
Then once we were settled in our room. I noticed that they advertise they “marina view” mine was of a parking lot and some guests enjoying beers and cigarettes on the hallway!!! They took it outside!!!! The view is just cars. See photos.
The walls are paper thin... ouch! Heard everything from both sides of the room.
When it was finally time to sleep the bed had hairs and a cute little bug!!!!! Awful...
Not to mention the non working falling of the wall smoke detector!
I called the front desk upon my findings on the bed and the the guy who answered he just said “ I Understand, I will let house keeping know...” really??? I was sooo disgusted bu this bed and room that I changed hotels. Incurring in extra expenses. Especially when you are traveling with children. I don’t want some weird bug bites on my child.
Then I discovered that the bathroom had Ants! Cute little ants all over my stuff. The property needs some serious pest control servicing.
Please note if you decide to stay here, the hotel is right under the landing path for the near by airport. So get ready for an experience. The airplanes fly so close that people come out to take photos.
However, it is loud and very annoying to have a plane above you this close. Its loud!!!!!!
Very disappointed. I have always trusted the Ramada Family for their standards. But this time it was not cool at all.

After checking in late at night and feeling rather creeped by the dirty hotel and my room having an adjoining door that a ten year old could kick down, we decided to stay together. In the middle of the night, I noticed a cockroach in the bathroom. Although disgusted, I went back to my bed, using the light on my phone, I looked around.. YUK! I saw a cockroach come out of the carpet baseboard! It ran under my bed! Disgusting! Then I saw another and yes, another. We packed up in the morning, let the front desk know why we were leaving and switched hotels. We later learned that this was not the first time this has happened. I feel bad writing this review because the hotel did refund out money, BUT, I'd feel worse if someone checked in, like us, and had the same experience,. The hotel is dirty.... I'm looking into hotels now for this year's tournament and when the hotel popped up, I felt the need to write this,. The photos look like the lobby has been remodeled, but if the cockroaches haven't moved out and the rooms are still dirty, who cares what the lobby looks like. If you do book this property, maybe try requesting room to the right of the lobby (IF your back is facing the street). Maybe this is the building that does not serve as an "apartment" and quite possibly not as dirty?
