This hotel was a great find, chosen because of its proximity to shopping. Best. Decision. Ever. It is comfortable, affordable, well maintained, and very clean. This hotel is located in Ellsworth, about 30 minutes away from Bangor International Airport and just 15 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acacia National Park, most convenient if you're sightseeing in the area.
The staff is friendly and professional. The hotel is smoke-free with self-parking. It offers a decent complimentary breakfast in a comfortable dining room that included bagels, pastries, hot and cold cereals, coffee, juice, assorted teas, pancakes, sausages, fresh fruit, etc. Newspapers, coffee, tea and cookies are always available in the lobby. This hotel has an indoor swimming pool with an ADA chair lift, an outdoor picnic area, tennis court, and a modest fitness center. There isn’t an elevator, so if you have mobility needs, be sure to request appropriate accommodations. There is a small laundry room with a washer and dryer for guests to share, plenty of parking, and 2 desktop computers with printers in the lobby.
The rooms have very comfortable beds with either goose down and synthetics (be specific if you have allergies), free decent easy-to-access Wi-Fi, a microwave, refrigerator with freezer section, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, and great cable TV options. Guests control air conditioning/heating units in their rooms. The safe is located at the front desk. Closet space and storage are somewhat limited. The bathroom had a tub, ideal for when traveling with children. Roll away beds are available.
Most ideal about this hotel is its convenient location. It is adjacent to a mall that has a laundromat, a clothing stores, a great supermarket that offers prepared foods and a pharmacy, yet another pharmacy across the way, a coffee house and even a diner. Nearby there is plenty of shopping and eateries. There are lots of fast food places.
So, if you’re looking for an affordable, decent, family friendly place near attractions, this is the place for you.
