A client (Alcon, across the street), told me I should stay in this hotel for a business trip, and I regret having acquiesced to their request. Oh boy! The hotel is not only under construction, but the rooms offered show why! Smelly, worn-out, broken bathroom fixtures. In the morning, no wonder the breakfast was "complimentary"... I did not tasted it! Anyway... I guess there is a reason why they are renovating, and it shows. But from a barking dog in a room near mine, to loud guests in the lobby, I say I did not enjoy the experience.

The Olive Hotel is a hidden gem located just off Third Circle on the edge of Amman city. It's main treasure is its staff. From the front desk, the cafe on the 12th floor, the staff in the breakfast and dining room, the cleaners and the drivers attached to the hotel are all warm, friendly and empathetic to any guests requests - no matter how odd they maybe. They are dealt with smoothly and efficiently with little fanfare. I needed to see a doctor. The young manager made an appointment for me - all I had to do was turn up. I was extremely grateful for this kind service. The rooms are spotlessly clean. The menus for breakfast and dinner changed every day. They incorporated hot western dishes together with a large array of Middle Eastern fare. There was always an inviting fresh salad to cleanse one's palate. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in a warm, friendly environment.
