We have stayed at the manor before and loved it. The rooms were pretty and comfortable. This time we booked late and ended up with a cabin. Very disappointing. First off to be a cabin should have at least a gas fireplace to feel cottagy. But more importantly it was not equipped well. For example, We had one big and three small spoons. Cubboards old and looked chewed on with food drips. Wall next to stove had cooking splashes on it. Back splash behind sink was dirty. Door jams dirty with sticky kid hand prints. Floors turned feet black quickly. Bathroom was clean with lots of towels. Toiletries were supplied adequately. Main problem was the lack of shades for privacy. Some windows had shades others did not. The main bedroom window had no shade and a street light tight outside it. Like day light! Had to hang a blanket up with clothes pins( thankfully I had. Bed was comfortable. Cabins need a make over but manor itself and grounds are beautiful.

We rented cabin 6 which had a beautiful view over the lake where we could watch eagles, ospreys and fish jumping. Everything was clean enough for roughing it which is what we wanted. Great pool and excellent 18 hole golf course. Plan to go again.
