Overview

Families most enjoy this hotel because it is at the Gateway to the Great Basin National Park and it is also the closest hotel to the train station, golf course, horse track, airport and hospital. The hotel recently underwent a remodel, and families will be pleased with the results. Rooms come standard with coffee makers, safes, microwaves, and there are some pet-friendly rooms. Onsite, there is the Gambling Hall, a full bar, 24-hour gaming establishment. Margaritas Authentic Mexican Restaurant & Steakhouse is onsite and has a wide selection of dishes. Prospector Hotel and Gambling Hall also has a full service RV Park for visitors who would like to drive in and stay on premises and access all the amenities.

My dog & I are always incredibly comfortable during our brief stays! The rooms are thoughtfully laid out, I own a hotel & truely appreciate finding propertries that also appreciate the art of hospitality. The Prospector is clearly aware of travelers needs, is very clean & comfortable and certainly operated to a high standard. This property has completely spoiled my dog to other hotels including my own. It has a huge grassy lawn which I enjoyed for his walks. All of the staff is courteous & on top of it. Amazing job!

In the past 2 years, we have stayed here about every 3 months. My wife has some business here with the hospital, but we just find this to be a nice weekend break. All of the employees enjoy their job and do their best to offer making your stay better. The quality of food in the restaurant has slipped some, it's become a food factory. They must have lost their cook, even the steak is just average. I am guessing management will remedy this situation, turnover in a smaller town can be a constant battle. The property and customers are very pet friendly. We enjoy the local customers as well. The teens seem to be solid, respectful patrons of the restaurant and we have never witnessed any drunken, rowdy, offensive behavior in the casino area. Check out the license plates in the parking lot: they are from all over. Most are probably repeat customers like us. If you want new, stay at the HI Express next door. We love the beds, the staff, and the environment!
