We stayed in the Ocean view B room on the top floor of the bungalow. It has wonderful views of the surf. The roof gable only has bamboo slats so the sea breeze comes through. There is a small fan, but no air conditioning, but I found it to be cool enough at night. There were no mosquitoes but they provide a large mosquito net over the bed. This bungalow has a basic bathroom with pebble floors, but it is sufficient. i loved the small geckos that live on the ceiling. The staff are friendly and I would recommend Tom’s garden restaurant which is where you can have all your meals. Breakfast was via table service and Susi was very attentive. You must try the banana pancake.

We spent one week at PONDOK PISCES in the BOUGENVILLE VILLA. I visited with my partner. The first thing we noticed was how unique this villa was. Set in tropical gardens with a lovely pool. Our villa could sleep a family of 2 adults and 2 children or 4 adults. There are 3 floors to the villa. Ground, first & second floor. We had a four poster bed on the second floor and loved it. This villa has no air conditioning so one can get extremely hot if one does not use the fan provided. It was so hot that we requested a second fan. We loved the tropical heat and controlled it well with fans. If you want a air conditioned accommodation, book one of the villas near Tom's garden cafe, which also belongs to PONDOK PISCES. We found breakfast very basic. If you want a good breakfast with more variety, you will have to pay for it. The staff were really nice. The kitchen, toilet and bathroom is a open plan type. We loved it. The only dislikes was the distance from our second floor bedroom to the toilet. It is quite a trek down the stairs if you want to go during the night, and you have to go outside then inside to the toilet. The other dislike is the stray dogs that hang around the villa. They really stunk (the smells was potent) and we felt sorry for them so fed them every day. The problem with that is you will never get rid of them LOL. One must not get bitten by any of them or you may catch rabbies. I purchased dog food and fed them. When it rains the ambient sounds of the rainfall is so theraputic. There are many places to eat nearby within walking distance. Late at night we could hear traffic noise in the distance but is was not too intrusive. We loved this villa so much especially for that pool which was perfect. We would like to try one of the villas near Tom's Garden Cafe next time we visit. This is the tropics so you will get bit by mossies and ants etc. Our room on second floor had a mosquito net and the room was very clean. If you want the feeling of freedom set in tropical beauty it has to be the BOUGENVILLE VILLA or any of the others close by. This place is paradise. Will we visit again? Yes.
