The Pod prides itself on being one of the hippest, most affordable hotels of its area. The boutique hotel is a great option for families. The hotel is located in Midtown East, just a short stroll away from Radio City Music Hall and the Theater District. Rooms are artsy and colorful with bright decors and chic furnishings, even the walls and headboards tend to display wild abstract designs. Flat-screen televisions, MP3 docking stations and free wireless Internet access are available. Rooms are referred to as “pods” and they come in a variety of styles to suit guests’ needs. Some pods have bunk beds and others feature shared bathrooms with upgraded bath appliances, like rain showers, designer sinks and streaming music. An outdoor cafe is open seasonally, serving natural baked goods and organic yogurt. A beautiful rooftop garden with expansive city views is another quiet retreat. At Pod Hotel, a concierge is ready to recommend events, place and hotspots around the city.

If you need a clean, friendly and fun place to stay a night or two this is ideal. I wanted a single room for one night while at a concert a chose Pod 51. My room was the single most basic unit n and it was perfect. The room is tiny but had a comfortable single bed, was basin, TV and excellent WiFi. The shared bathroom was very clean and the towel were of good quality. The common spaces are fun with a little cafe (decent coffee), fusball table and a large bar with plenty of craft beers. All the staff were helpful and friendly. A terrific value for a short stat in the heart of midtown.
