Overview

This small 21-room mom and pop establishment will appear from the decor and attention to detail on the inside to be more of a boutique hotel than a roadside motel. Located just south of downtown Sault Set. Marie and Lake Superior State University, the Plaza Motor Motel offers some rooms with a pair of queen beds and others with a queen and a full but the majority have just a single bed (king or queen). With rates as affordable as they are, you can happily book side by side rooms and give you and the kiddos some space during your stay in town. All rooms offer free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a refrigerator and microwave and Wolfgang Puck coffee. There’s no free breakfast or pool but the Plaza is charming and if you seek independent accommodations in Sault St. Marie, you’ll be hard pressed to find any better.

Reasonable Price for a Very Nice Room

My husband and I stayed in one of the economy rooms, which was inside the property. We could hear when another economy room traveller came into their room, but happily they were rather quiet. I cannot rate the sleep quality as my back had gone out and I would not have had restful sleep anywhere that night! But there were lots and lots of pillows on the bed. Room was clean, but we did have a little difficulty with the wi-fi - that did get staightenend out. Will definitely stay there again.

Anniversary Getaway

Booked this on reviews alone and didn't disappoint! What a beautiful hidden gem. Super clean, beautifully decorated, close to everything and Jim was so knowledgable about the area. Gave us tips on a good breakfast and sites. Even called us the night of our arrival as we were arriving late. Will definitely be staying here again AND referring friends and family!
