Overview

This gorgeous escape is located along Florida’s Nature Coast, surrounded by over 25,000 acres of lakes, rivers, wildlife refuges and state parks, and the natural springs of Kings Bay. Snorkeling with manatees is a big bucket list reason why many families visit this resort. The 72-degree waters of Kings Bay and Crystal River make it a great gathering place for the endangered West Indian Manatee, especially during the cooler winter months. Crystal River is the only place in the world where snorkelers can swim alongside as the adorable creatures eat, play and socialize. Boating, diving and fishing are also big draws to this area, which is 80 miles north of Tampa and 90 miles northwest of Orlando.
Golfing is also great here, even for junior-level golfers, as the par-31 Hack Course features shorter fairways and fewer water hazards. Eight junior suites and 12 villas offer the most room for families. A scenic swimming pool, two tennis courts, sand volleyball, horseshoes and croquet are also great ways to play. An Aveda Spa offers supreme relaxation, and boutique shopping is only a 5-minute drive away. Four onsite dining options are available.

A pleasant change from all the chain hotels dominant in the area. Charming, with a lovely riverfront property. Pool and activities are available($17 required fee). Only complaints were need of new pillows and carpet in hallways and stairs. Will return.
