Basic stop-over on road trip

by dnallot18

Like other reviewers we found ourselves in the Fairways building hidden at the back of the resort. As other have said the building could do with a make-over but really that's all. We had two rooms, both very large, and both clean and comfortable. One of our rooms was on the lower floor and one on the upper. There really wasn't much of a view from either, but we were only staying one night. Staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly. All in all, it was a functional stop-over and we would stay there again if we were ever passing through.

A place Captain Obvious should visit!

We booked a 2 night stay here mid week before labour day weekend. Check in was smooth with very friendly front desk staff. We booked an "upgraded " Fairway room which we were informed was in a stand alone building at the back of the main building. We traveled from the paved parking area of the main building to the gravel and mud, pothole filled parking are for the "Fairway" building. This area is also home to the maintenance equipment storage barn for the golf course and a small auto graveyard . The hallway leading to the rooms looked like a crime scene. Badly stained carpeting, paint peeled walls and the smell of a musty old cottage. The room was surprisingly large. It had 2 double beds,a fridge, television, couch and a table and chairs. The washroom was large as well. The entire room was in need of a major renovation and had the same funky smell as the hallway. There was a large picture window and a sliding glass door which led to the patio. Our fairway view was that of some straggly bushes with no fairways in sight. The patio was littered with a mas of burnt out cigarette
butts. The screen for the patio door was torn open so leaving the door open to air the room out would have filled the room with mosquitoes. I'm sure there is potential to bring this place back to what it must've been like in the 70's and 80's nit it's not likely to happen soon.
