Overview

The Pinestead Reef Resort, located on the soft, sandy beach in Traverse City, Mich., offers guests a prime location when vacationing on East Arm Grand Traverse Bay. Enjoy 46 studio, one-, or two-room suites and condos, all with full kitchens and separate living and bedroom areas. Larger accommodations include two full bathrooms, as well. All first floor units have direct access to the beach and second and third floor units all have a balcony.

Weekly activities planned for guests of all ages will keep everyone busy. The indoor, heated pool and game room will keep the kids happy, plus jet skis and boats are also available to rent. Local attractions, such as golf, hiking and nature trails and shopping are just minutes from the resort, too.

Dirty and tired

Old resort that is not very well maintained. Housekeeping does a lick and a promise style of cleaning and preparation of the units. Have they heard of the concept of "deep cleaning" occasionally? They also offer cable TV. You can't search channels except to go one channel at a time. Not very current on technology.

Great Hotel

Pinestead Reef is a very nice hotel. It has accomodations for cooking with a nice kitchen and appliances. The view is great. You can face the water. Location is great. Very close to downtown Traverse City. It has a nice pool and arcade room. The beds are comfortable. Eric at the desk is great.
