Overview

The Philadelphia Marriott Downtown brings guests a sense of casual comfort in a stylishly elegant setting. The large and spacious lobby is lavish with its marble flooring and columns, but it does not give off a “do not touch” feel. Kids will feel plenty comfortable and welcome to run around the large circular lobby.
Located in Philadelphia’s Center City, the location is ideal for exploring Philadelphia’s many eateries and historic sites. Independence Hall, the Pennsylvania Convention Center and Reading Terminal Market (Philadelphia’s historic public market with lots of charm and Philly food favorites) are within steps or blocks of the hotel, allowing families numerous options for things to do.
Don’t be deceived by the narrow hotel hallways because the spacious guestrooms and suites offer families plenty of space to spread out. Families will love the indoor pool, onsite family-friendly restaurant and nearby bicycle rentals, too.

Room Information
Find the Best Price for Your Stay
All of the more than 1,300 guestrooms and suites feature a mini-fridge, coffee service, plenty of outlets for charging and a laptop-size safe. All of the rooms also offer a shower/tub combination in the bathroom. A crib is available upon request and a rollaway bed is available at a nightly fee. Connecting rooms can be found in both guestrooms and suites.
Guestrooms
Double and king bed options are available in the guestrooms and all of the mattresses have been recently upgraded. A large desk area and flat-screen television with HBO are also offered in the guestrooms.
Suites
Double doors in the spacious suites separate the living room and bedroom areas. A dining table with chairs, wet bar and a couch are all featured in the suites. However, the couch is not a sleeper sofa. A Murphy bed and oversized wet bar can be found in the larger Hospitality Suite, which can be used for a bridal party or event preparation.

Stayed here over a long weekend. This was our first time staying at a Marriott property as Platinum level members. We booked two rooms and one room was generously upgraded to a very nice suite. The other room was very basic with two double beds. After one night in this room I was able to switch to a room in the tower across the skybridge which was significantly nicer. Kudos to Rose at the front desk for making this happen. She was excellent. This hotel was hopping, as it was hosting a large conference. However, the hotel did not handle the crowd very well at all. On several occasions we waited for more than ten minutes for an elevator to arrive. Simply unacceptable. Sunday morning line for the bellhop exceeded thirty people. On Saturday afternoon there was absolute gridlock in the entry drive. We had to get out of our ride a block away as a result. These issues would need to be fixed before we would return.

Staff here was great but if you need a copy of your bill don't leave the hotel without it. I usually contact hotels after my stay to get a copy of my final bill and I've never had an issue until now. Its been over 10 days since my initial request to get a copy of my bill. If you try to call they refer you to emailing marriott instead and now i have several emails that haven't been responded to. It extremely frustrating since i have to submit expense reports to my employer in order to get reimbursed.
Family Activities
Pool
Located on the seventh floor, the lap pool is heated and has a depth of 3 to 4 feet. Chairs surround the pool deck and guests will find towels and a bathroom/changing room in the pool area. No lifeguards are ever on duty.
Bike Share
Philadelphia offers a bike share program throughout the city. Guests will find a bike share station steps outside the Marriott lobby. Bikes are available 24/7 and each station has a touchscreen kiosk for payment and a map of city neighborhoods. Families can rent bikes for as long as you desire. Children must be 16 years old to ride a bike-sharing bike.
Family Dining
13 Restaurant
Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, 13 Restaurant is open seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. 13 serves American favorites in a causal setting and offers a children's menu. The kids' menu (which also happens to be an activity placemat) features kid favorites like pancakes, pizza, chicken fingers and mac and cheese. A breakfast buffet is also available. Televisions can be found in the bar area, and an outdoor dining terrace is available in the warmer months.
Circ Lounge
Located in the center of the circular lobby, Circ is a great hangout space for families. Cocktails and light fare are served all day and dinner is served at Circ from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. But the plush chairs and couches and large television make it a nice place to meet before heading out to explore the city.
Starbucks
A small (but full-service) Starbucks shop can be found in the lobby so guests can get that caffeine fix.
In-Room Dining
Room service is available to guests until midnight during the week and until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
