Great location. I took the underground Piccadilly Line from Heathrow to Kensington Station and the hotel was right across the street. Super convenient. The area is bustling and within walking of Hyde Park, museums etc. The staff was cheerful and the service was very good. But the room was beyond dated. I asked for and was assured that I was assigned a renovated room because my travel agent had said there were some more updated than others. Perhaps the bedding and the bathroom fixtures had received some attention at some point but the rest was in need of an update - or at least a good coat of paint and new carpet. The furniture was stained, every piece - only with the exception of the headboard. The carpet was stained in numerous places and the walls were totally marked up. It was very surprising especially given the reviews on this site and the hotel's description on this site and its own website. Hence I was moved to write this review just to be sure people were not caught off guard. Perhaps other rooms are better but 408 is one to certainly avoid.

Located just in front of the South Kensington Tube station, which makes it very convenient as you can take the Piccadilly Line from Heathrow without changes (it is 34 minutes).
Interior decoration is full of charm, elegance and harmony, every single detail is perfect. Every single corner is pure coziness and sense of home.
The buffet breakfast combined with á la carte is delicious and it takes place in what in the evening and lunch is the restaurant Trattoria by Alfredo Russo.
Rooms are lovely and full of comforts. The standard ones are in my view too tiny, Better going for a bigger size. I was lucky to stay in two different rooms both spacey and very cozy.
The bathroom is very clean. The only downside is that the shower is not convenient. The shower telephone cable is too short and the shower coming from the above is fixed. You take the shower inside the bathtubbe.
Staff is genuinely friendly and very professional and helpful. I am very thankful to all of them as they were all very special (and I am picky).
