Overview
by Phil Corless
Almost like having our own small apartment, staying at the Pearson Cove B&B gives you two separate bedrooms, living room, bathroom and dining area. Basically, you occupy one entire floor of this beautiful house. The private deck is ideal for taking in the stunning views of the ocean and nearby islands. The owner has gone out of her way to make her home feel like yours, providing access to a washer/dryer, exercise machines, and even throwing in free bicycles for you to pedal around town.
The B&B sits on a quiet, residential street not far from downtown Kodiak, with many shops and restaurants about a half-mile away. There is no shortage of fine dining establishments serving the freshest Alaskan seafood you’ve ever had. Several kid-friendly attractions are close by, including the Kodiak Wildlife Refuge Visitors Center and the Kodiak Fisheries Aquarium. For a full day of hiking and history, Fort Abercrombie State Park is only 4 miles away. There’s plenty to do on the island, and the friendly owner of Pearson Cove B&B is a wealth of information to help with your Alaskan family vacation.
