Located on the lovely Hayden Island, Oxford Suites Portland is the ideal location for families who want to do it all. It provides easy access to downtown Portland, downtown Vancouver, the airport, the Rose Quarter, and plenty of outdoor fun. The all-suite hotel offers several accommodation options, like the two-room Family Double King Suite (one king bed in each room, and certain units add sofa beds too), or one of the double-queen suites which consist of a single room. All units feature sitting areas, microwaves, refrigerators, coffee makers, and Wi-Fi, as well as premium bedding.
Onsite, families will enjoy the complimentary hot breakfast buffet, complimentary evening reception with appetizers and drinks (soda for kids), indoor pool, spa, sauna, and steam room, and coin-operated guest landry. There’s also an onsite restaurant, the Oxford Bistro, which is open nightly for dinner and drinks.

As always, your team was friendly and check in was smooth. We were a bit discouraged when we called an hour or so before arrival and the first question asked was did you get the phone call that we are undergoing major renovation? We had not. We always stay with you when visiting our family and daughter at college. We look forward to the gym and swimming pool as a way to unwind after a long drive and a time to visit with our daughter. If we had known that the pool and ammenities were nonexistant we would have changed our stay and come back to you when the renovation was complete. I booked this stay months ago - the payment I made was over the phone with someone at the front desk. No mention then when I booked - the price reflected a stay with all ammenities that we are used to. It was very disappointing and no price break or perks were given. While on the phone call the woman who was helping me (she is a great asset for you by the way) noticed that we had not been given the univeristy of portland discount - we had been told the loyalty discount was better in earlier stays - the univeristy discount was slightly better and she made the adjustment. Would have been nice to know all the other times we have booked directly with the hotel. This year our daughter lives in Downtown Portland - there were so many hotels closer to her apartment that we bypassed to continue our stays with you - not letting us know prevented us the family time at the hotel we all looked forward too and kept us further from our daughter. One simple email would have allowed us to rebook with you for after construction and allowed us a happier visit this time.

I would definitely wait until the construction is over. The area hotels were same price and had hot breakfast, nice wine prices and cheese w/hors'deurves.
Under construction you shouldn't have the idea of doing less. Doing a lot more shows you really care. I was told we are really lowering our rate because of construction, only for me to find out that was the average going rate for the many hotels close by. I had recommended the hotel to others who had not stayed there before, only to see the other hotels had a lot more services at the same price.
