Omni Royal is only two blocks from the popular French Quarter and trendy Canal Street shopping. Rooms and suites showcase floor-to-ceiling windows, plush bedding and feather pillows. The hotel has thought of the smallest details with satin hangers in the closets and soft bathrobes in the bathrooms. Families can stay in a Deluxe Room or the Omni Suite, which offers a separate bedroom and a parlor with an additional television. Childproofing items are available, such as nightlights and outlet covers. Kids also receive welcoming gifts at Omni Royal. Backpacks filled with games and books are awaiting them at their arrival. Parents are given a family-friendly list of nearby attractions for children. Dress It, a gourmet burger restaurant, serves soups and salads with their burgers. It is open for all meals. Art of Breakfast offers a breakfast buffet each morning. A rooftop sundeck displays a hot tub, and a fitness center is free to guests. Nearby, families can easily find parks, lakes and golf courses. Pets are also welcome at this hotel for a fee.

As other reviews have stated this hotel is under major renovation, this was not disclosed when I booked through 3rd party site. After reading all the horrible reviewsI tried to cancel but 3rd party site refused, needless to say I won't be using them again. The construction that is going on made our stay here very unpleasant, there is no lobby, just a makeshift desk in the under construction restaurant, a dreary walk down a dismal hall to a freight elevator, the smell of paint fumes everywhere. The décor they have chosen in the rooms is very dark, dreary and industrial. There is no place to put suitcases except the floor, no luggage racks, no dressers, so no unpacking your suitcase. There is a closet but no light anywhere near it, a full length mirror with no light anywhere near it so pretty useless. The light switch right inside the entry door is not hooked up to anything, good luck in the dark. The bathroom is very small with no counter space, shelves and only one small towel rack. I had to put all of my cosmetics on the floor and hang towels on the doorknob. There are no grab handles in the shower so if you have any mobility issues do not stay here, very dangerous! The location is good for walking, but our room was very noisy at night, we could hear everything on the street outside including the giant party bus that drove by blasting music about every 20 minutes. A few of the staff were nice and helpful but most of them were obviously hating their jobs and were rude (when you could get their attention away from whatever they were watching on their computers). I agree with others, they should not be open during renovations. Even when all renovations are complete I will never stay at this hotel again. I hope the new management is reading these reviews and taking them seriously, you don't stand a chance if issues and attitudes aren't fixed.

I booked thru a 3rd party site but even when I checked the actual hotel website it was not disclosed this hotel was in being remodeled (it should be torn down) At the time of booking it was the Royal C resent 3 weeks later it was the Magnolia. The front desk was a folding table no phone in the rooms, which were dirty we actually found a book bag with someone else underwear and pills inn it under the bed while looking for my ear ring . We checked in on Friday on Monday we were told they was no / limited cleaning service thru the week at which time they comped me three days the final straw was at 148 AM the security guard pounded on my hotel room door like there was a fire in the building this is because there are no phones in the rooms when i had her identify who she was I opened the door and she stormed in the room to find us both in bed and and be woken up by her she accused us of smoking in the room, after she released we were sound asleep and not smoking no evidence or smell of it she apologized and left. Smoking in the room might have improved the room. Besides the lack of any amenities oh wait I am sorry you can get ice there is no phones in the room no nor fridge my coffee pot was in the bathroom which the shower was a dollar store hand held shower with no way to stabilize it so you had to get wet later up and then rinse off the water did not flow from the faucet to take a bath and there was no way to plug the tub if it did run there was no chair in the room and no night stands. I hope they realize staying open during renovation hurt them more than just closing. I am appalled by the fact I am having to call today to get my money back after only staying 3 of eight days. I have not taken a real vacation in ten years this vacation was given to me for ten years of service at my job and was pretty much ruined because of their managements decision to stay open and rob people of their money because they sure do not give you anything for your money
