We spent a few days at the NoMad in New York recently and it's probably been one of our best hotel stays in New York over the years. A great hotel with good service, the rooms were fantastic. We stayed in the One Bedroom Suite which provided plenty of space for us to enjoy our work trip comfortably. The interiors are exquisite and well-maintained and the bathroom was also excellent.
General hotel facilities were also excellent.

This is for the most part a very nice hotel. The rooms are huge for NYC and if you are good with the whole place looking like a fancy haunted house, then you will be fine with the decor. Service was almost uniformly good, polite and kind. My issue was at checkout. It was POURING rain and I had no umbrella and needed to leave the hotel to get to my waiting car service across the street. Why not provide the doorman with umbrellas so they can escort you to the car? Instead, the doorman told me to ask at the front desk (which I already thought was rude) and then the front desk very rudely told me they were out of umbrellas and to go get the one that was in my room. This doesn't help me once I've checked out and have no way of getting back into my room, and when my car is already waiting across the street. Just rude and inconsiderate all around--as the doorman sat inside the hotel and watched me get absolutely drenched with all my luggage. Kind of spoiled the entire stay to be honest. I would expect this treatment at a Holiday Inn but not when I'm spending upwards of 500 a night.
