Nine Quarter Circle Ranch is a 15-room property located five miles off the main highway and right in the middle of some of Montana’s most beautiful terrain. If your family is looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city life, without letting go of clean and modern amenities, Nine Quarter Circle Ranch is perfect.
Each of the property’s 15 cabins are made from real Montana logs, constructed in traditional Montana style. Each includes homemade furniture and furnishings, are heated by wood stoves and come with a full private bathroom. Rooms are organized in a variety of ways and include one- to four-bedroom cabins to accommodate even the largest families. While there is no cell service on the property, Wi-Fi Internet is available.
The ranch’s main hangout, The Lodge, right next to the dining room (where guests are served home-cooked, family-style meals), is where guests and families congregate to play board games, enjoy sing-alongs, square dance and become friends while the sprightly fire cackles in the background.
The highlight of Nine Quarter Circle Ranch isn’t it’s wonderful tranquility on some of Montana’s most beautiful terrain, nor is it the home-made furniture in the cabins or the home-cooked meals at the lodge — it’s all the family-friendly activities onsite! Guests are given access to fishing, hiking, square dancing, hayrides, horseshoes, volley ball, campfires and cookouts, gymkhana and, of course, horseback riding! Kids and adults of varying ages and skill ranges are taken for trail rides on the property, through Gallatin National Forest and even Yellowstone Park, located a short ways off the property.

My husband and I visited the ranch during the “Annual Cowgirl Quilt Retreat”. It was our first time and it was a fantastic experience! To start with, we really liked the location of the ranch as it is a few miles off the main road and tucked back in a valley. This makes the experience just that much better. The accommodations were just as expected - simple, clean with no frills...just what a dude ranch should have. The food was plentiful and delicious and it was really fun to sit at different tables at each meal which gave everyone a chance to talk with different guest each time. The entire staff (kitchen, horse ranglers, fly fishing instructor), were incredible - so friendly, yet professional. The entire Kelsey family (Kameron & Sally own and run the ranch) are so approachable, outgoing and friendly. I mainly worked on quilting, with the exception of one horseback riding session and my husband did a lot of horseback riding and fly fishing. He learned the fly fishing technique and caught fish everyday! We both walked away just totally enjoying the experience and excited about doing it again. The planning of events, meals and whatever else goes on behind the scenes by the Kelsey family and staff is what makes this the ultimate experience. My hat goes off to them! Thank you for a wonderful time.
