The Wyndham Orlando Resort just completed its multi-million renovation, bringing a newer, more sophisticated resort offering to International Drive. The renovations, which began in 2012, have modernized the hotel’s 613 guest rooms, which span across several freestanding buildings in 13 configurations, providing a new look and new technology, including flat-screen TV’s and MP3 docking stations.

The resort’s new look also includes a new lobby lounge with a communal networking station to connect guests to the Internet and provide charging stations, as well as a new, 25,000-square-foot ballroom and upgraded landscaping for outdoor events. A new full-service restaurant, Cooper’s Hawk Winery, will open at the resort this fall.

The new hotel will complement the expansive 100,000-square-foot, $200-million retail and dining development, I-Shops, which is currently under construction on International Drive. The complex will include multiple restaurants, shops and three new attraction operated by London-based Merlin Entertainments: the 400-foot Orlando Eye observation wheel, SEA LIFE Aquarium, and a Madame Tussauds’ wax museum. Restaurants are already beginning to open, with the complex scheduled for completion by spring of 2015.
