Winter the Dolphin Hotel to Open in Florida

Did you know the real-life Winter the Dolphin and her companion, Hope, live at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Clearwater, Florida?

In partnership with the aquarium, the Wyndham Clearwater Beach Resort (A Family Vacation Critic Favorite Hotel) has offered Winter the Dolphin- and Mavis the Sea Turtle-themed guestrooms, as well as packages that combine overnight accommodations with admission to the aquarium.

Now, in partnership with Choice Hotels and the Page Development Group, the Clearwater Marine Aquarium will open Winter the Dolphin’s Beach Club Hotel on Clearwater Beach.

Formerly the Quality Hotel Clearwater Beach Resort, the eco-friendly hotel will be dolphin- and marine life-themed—from the lobby to the 91 guestrooms. Sustainable features will include sea turtle-safe lighting, the elimination of single-use plastics, and window treatments that reduce energy use.

And here’s the best news of all: proceeds from each reservation will go to the care, research, education and conservation of marine mammals.

Winter the Dolphin’s Beach Club Hotel, part of the Ascend Hotel Collection, will be located at 655 Gulfview Boulevard. It’s expected to open this spring.
