Two oceanfront hotels in Virginia Beach, Va., are closing at the end of summer, possibly to make room for a new hotel. The Seaside Hotel and the Sea Gull Inn, both on Atlantic Avenue will close in September.
The City of Virginia Beach has been in talks with Hyatt Hotels Corp. about the possibility of developing a large, new hotel on Atlantic Avenue. The closing hotels are set to be demolished after they close, sparking more rumors that a Hyatt resort will be built in the space.
