Virgin Group, which operates Virgin Airlines, has begun plans to launch into the cruising market with the development of Virgin Cruises.
In the very early stages, the company hopes to enter into the market to operate cruises to compete with large cruise operators like Carnival Cruise Lines and entice travelers who don’t normally cruise. Virgin is currently raising funds to operate a Miami-based cruise line, beginning with a ship in both the Caribbean and Mediterranean.
