Vail Resorts plans to spend $50-million on enhancements at Park City Ski Resort, including a gondola that will connect it to Canyons Resort. Together, both resorts will create the largest ski area in America.
According to an official statement, here’s what families can expect in 2015:
The Interconnect Gondola
A high-speed gondola will operate between the resorts, from the base of the Silver Lift at Park City to the Flatirons Lift at Canyons (and back); it will hold eight passengers.
Lift Upgrades
King Con, which currently holds four people, will become a six-person, high-speed detachable chair, while Motherlode will become a four-person chair lift.
Restaurant Renovations
A new Snow Hut restaurant will open (replacing the current one) at Park City, accommodating up to 500 diners. More seats will also be added to Summit House. At Canyons, Red Pine Restaurant will be expanded with 250 addition seats.
Additional snow making is planned for two trails at Canyons Resort‘s Iron Mountain in anticipation of increased traffic from the Interconnect Gondola.
