Toys “R” Us will close its iconic New York flagship store on Dec. 30, ending its 14-year reign in Times Square.
The prime location has been more than a toy store, serving as a family destination with its indoor Ferris Wheel spanning the store’s three stories. However, rising rent costs were cited as the reason the 110,000-square-foot store will close.
Toys “R” Us first opened its Broadway location in 2001, and will shut its doors for good following the holiday shopping season.
