The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim, California will close for good this January to make way for an attraction based on Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” superheroes.
The ride’s closing has met some strong opposition on social media.
“THE WORST IDEA EVER,” and “YOU CAN’T POSSIBLY THINK OF GETTING RID OF IT. NO NO NO NO NOOO. NO.” were among the reactions on Twitter, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The new “Guardians of the Galaxy” ride will keep the fast-dropping elevator from the Tower of Terror, but the rest of the ride will be completely different.
The ride will reopen in summer 2017.
