Thomas the Tank Engine has been chugging through America and Canada for the past 19 years, but in 2015, he will also receive a permanent home: a theme park at Edaville Railroad USA in Carver, Mass. Thomas Land will be the first in the U.S.; currently, Thomas Land is also located in the United Kingdom and Japan.
The park, which will encompass 250 acres, will have 14 rides, including a roller coaster, Ferris wheel and drop tower. It will also feature a 20-minute train ride and chance to meet Sir Topham Hat, similar to the experience currently offered in A Day Out with Thomas.
Groundbreaking begins in July, 2014, and Thomas Land is expected to open by next summer.
