JetBlue has raised its checked baggage fees to an industry high.
The airline has raised the fee for your first checked bag to $30 — a $5 increase. A second bag will cost you $40 (up from $35) and a third bag is $150 (a $50 increase).
Air Canada and WestJet have also announced an increase in baggage fees, now charging $30 for the first checked bag.
The new baggage fees surpass those charged by other major airlines; United, Delta and American still charge $25 for the first checked bag and $35 for the second. Southwest allows up to two free checked bags.
