Sun Valley Resort in Idaho celebrated its grand reopening last week following massive renovations to its lodge and spa.
America’s first destination ski resort, the Sun Valley Resort and Sun Valley Lodge first opened nearly 80 years ago, serving as a leading winter destination and eventually evolving into a year-round vacation spot. The newly improved Sun Valley Lodge reopened with its original character and essence in tact, with modern amenities visitors have come to expect from world-class resorts. The lodge expanded its guest room sizes, actually lowering its room count from 148 to 94 to nearly double room sizes and increase bathroom sizes. In addition, the Lodge created six “Celebrity Suites,” named for bygone stars of the past who once frequented the resort, including Marilyn Monroe.
The lodge also debuted its Sun Valley Spa, a full-service spa with fitness center, beauty salon, yoga studio, heated saline pool, and 15 treatment rooms for a variety of wellness treatments.
The lodge’s lobby also received an expansion and remodel, with an oversized fireplace and lounge.
