Southwest Airlines Offering First International Flights Following Merger

Southwest Airlines will begin offering its first international flights, beginning July 1. Following a merger with AirTran, Southwest will be taking over AirTran’s flights to Nassau, Bahamas; Montego Bay, Jamaica; and Aruba on July 1, and then Cancun and Los Cabos, Mexico, August 10.

Southwest plans to complete its merger of AirTran flights by the end of 2014, with all AirTran membership benefits transferring over to Southwest, as well.
