Royal Caribbean’s newest ship, Anthem of the Seas, will be crossing the Atlantic this fall to make her home at Cape Liberty Cruise Port in New York. The ship has currently been enjoying her inaugural season in Europe and the Mediterranean, but will make New York her permanent home upon her arrival.
Among some of the highlights of the new ship are RipCord by iFLY, the first skydiving experience at sea, and SeaPlex, the largest indoor active space at sea with a circus school, bumper cars, roller skating and more. Its North Star attraction is a glass capsule similar to the pods on the London Eye that rises 300 feet above sea life, then rotates over the sides of the ship to provide 360-degree views. The experience is free for all guests.
Among other notable changes to cruising are its staterooms and suites. The ships Family suites include multi-generational suites connecting three different stateroom categories into one to create three-bedroom layout with multiple bathrooms, sitting areas and balcony space. Interior rooms now offer views, as well, two-story loft-style Sky Suites, and staterooms with Virtual Balconies. High-definition screens provide a virtual window of the views the ship as the ship is traveling, from rooms that do not offer windows or views.
The ship is offering an all-new Dynamic Dining experience, providing passengers with a selection of 18 restaurants, including five complimentary main dining spots. Anthem of the Seas features 18 decks and 2,090 staterooms, accommodates 4,180 double occupancy guests, and measures 136 feet in width by 1,141 feet in length.
