Plans for the Gold Nugget Theme Park in Deadwood, South Dakota, about an hour north of Black Hills, were unveiled during a public meeting recently.
The park would include three themes — miners, cowboys, and pioneers, and cost between $40 and $80 million. The park would also possibly include a water park, dinner theater, lodge, log cabin camp, tepee camp, and a steam train with train robbery re-enactors, among other things.
Ground is hoped to be broken on the park by next year so it can open in 2019.
