King Charles II granted William Penn a charter in 1681, creating Pennsylvania 336 years ago on March 12. To commemorate the anniversary, the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission is offering free admission to historic sites and museums along the Pennsylvania Trails of History.
Free admission on Sunday, March 12, will be available at The State Museum in Harrisburg, along with the following sites and museums:
– Brandywine Battlefield Park, Chadds Ford
– Conrad Weiser Homestead, Womelsdorf
– Cornall Iron Furnace, Cornwall
– Daniel Well Museum, Titusville
– Eckley Miners’ Village, Weatherly
– Ephrata Cloister, Ephrata
– Erie Maritime Museum & Flagship Niagara, Erie
– Fort Pitt Museum, Pittsburgh
– Graeme Park, Horsham
– Hope Lodge, Ft. Washington
– Joseph Priestly House, Northumberland
– Landis Valley Village and Farm Museum, Lancaster
