Chicago has always been a city on the rise. Vacationers wanting to visit the Windy City will have more hotel options with the opening of a number of new properties, each popular chains for families.
The Avenue Crown Plaza Chicago has become two separate Hilton properties, both located on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. The new properties share a lobby but have separate reception desks. The Hampton Inn & Suites, with 230 rooms, and the Homewood Suites, with 120 rooms, both provide suites options in which families can spread out and have separate living and sleeping areas.
Another hotel transformed into a new property this year, as well. Hotel Sax Chicago has become the Hotel Chicago, the first Chicago property operated by Marriott’s Autograph Collection. The stylish hotel is located next to the House of Blues, and honors its Blue Brothers location with a Jake and Elwood Suite.
Recently opening its doors on Michigan Avenue is the Hotel Indigo Chicago, located at Millennium Park. The property, within steps of the park, features 156 rooms and a rooftop lounge in its 101-year-old historic building setting.
This fall, Virgin Hotel Chicago will open as a hip new 250-room property, located in the Dearborn Bank Building. It will become the first Virgin property in the U.S.
Loews Hotels joins the market with a new 400-room property opening next year along the Chicago River.
