As Mackinac Island’s historic Grand Hotel opened for its 129th season on May 1, it debuted its new Cupola Suites on its fourth floor.
The new Cupola Suites, perfect for families, are comprised of four bedrooms and two parlors. Guests can elect to have one bedroom, one bedroom with a parlor or two bedrooms with a parlor, depending on their needs.
The Grand Hotel originally opened in 1887 and is a National Historic Landmark. The 390-room hotel is open from May through the end of October on Mackinac Island, which does not allow motorized vehicles. This season, the hotel will offer special weekend packages: the 66th Annual Lilac Festival, June 5 to 14; Arts Weekend, June 26 to 28; Old-Fashioned Mackinac 4th of July Celebration, July 2 to 5; Summer Wine Appreciation Weekend, July 10 to 12; Grand Hotel’s Labor Day Jazz Weekend, September 4 to 7; Fall Wine Appreciation Weekend, September 11 to 13; History Weekend, September 25 to 27; Ballroom Dancing Weekend, October 9 to 11; “Somewhere in Time” weekend, October 16 to 18; and Murder Mystery Weekend, October 23 to 25.
