VisitLondon.com revealed a new must-see for kids and adults who have grown up reading the Paddington Bear collection of children’s books: the Paddington Trail.
The trail is highlighted with 51 3-foot by 6-inch Paddington statues, designed by renowned artists and celebrities, including Benedict Cumberbatch’s “Sherlock Bear,” Emma Watson’s “Flutterby,” and David Beckham’s “Golden Paws.” The statues can be found outside major London landmarks and attractions, including the Royal Opera House, Heathrow airport, and fittingly, Paddington Station, where the traveling bear from Peru was first discovered.
The trail will allow visitors to London to follow Paddington on his adventures, beginning as far west as Heathrow to the O2 in the east. The new exhibit arrives just in time for the November U.K. release of “Paddington,” a new movie about Paddington, which visits the same attractions along the trail. The movie stars “Downton Abbey’s” Hugh Bonneville as Mr. Brown. Bonneville design a bear, as well, called “the Journey of Marmalade.” The Paddington Trail will remain on display through December 30, 2014.
Other Paddington designs were provided by survival expert Bear Grylls, the Chelsea football team, the England rugby team. Kate Moss, Sandra Bullock, Michael Sheen, Guy Ritchie and Lulu Guinness.
