The country’s premier adventure race for kids, the 2015 Kids Adventure Games, is now accepting registration for participants, ages 6 to 14. Inspired to get kids outdoors, the games were launched five years ago in Vail, Colorado, and is the only race of its kind in the U.S.
Kids Adventure Games features teams of two navigating a mountain obstacle course. The course includes mountain biking, hiking, running, zip lining, wall climbing, and navigating rope swings, cargo nets, mud pits and a giant slip-and-slide. The event is meant to inspire teamwork and self-reliance, as parents are not allowed to assist kids, instead only allowed to cheer from the sidelines.
The 2015 races takes place in multiple locations:
– June 19 – 20: Snowbird, Utah
– June 26 – 27: Squaw Valley, California
– July 10 – 11: Trapp Family Lodge, Vermont
– July 18 – 19: Snowshoe Mountain Resort, West Virginia
– August 5 – 9: Vail, Colorado
– August 21 -22: Mammoth, California
– August 28 – 29: Big Sky, Montana
– September 5 to 6: Sun Valley, Idaho
Online registration and more information is available online, and participation is $75 per person based on a team of two.
