For the first time, Cape Cod’s Barnstable Municipal Airport will welcome a direct flight from New York City by a major commercial airliner. JetBlue Airways will fly direct between New York City and Hyannis for once-daily seasonal service, June 26 through September 9, 2014.

Flights from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport will arrive in Hyannis at 1:05 p.m. daily, and depart for New York at 1:45 p.m. daily. The flight will be close to an hour aboard an Embraer E190 twin-engine jet with 100 two-seat-by-two-seat cabin.

Currently, flights into Barnstable Airport are serviced by local-based Cape Air, Nantucket Airlines and Island Air, which offer connecting flights from Boston.
