Windstar Cruises and award-winning TV host and conservationist are teaming to provide a special cruise event for families on its March 2016 Costa Rica & Panama Canal sailing. The host of Animal Planet’s “Jeff Corwin Experience” and the Emmy Award-winning “Ocean Mysteries,” will host a private event with passengers to showcase wildlife on Isla de Coiba, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Costa Rica & Panama Canal is a small ship itinerary offered by Windstar Cruises, geared specifically toward nature lovers and families with teens. Guests will board a 212-passenger yacht and sail through the Panama Canal, with port visits to Colon and Balboa, Panama, and Costa Rica’s Puerto Jimenez, Bahia Drake, Quepos and Puerto Caldera. The visit to Isla de Coiba, a marine reserve and island off the coast of Panama, will be led by Corwin. Visitors may encounter howler monkeys, macaws, turtles and more while learning about animal and land conservation. Corwin will also be onboard the ship for a lecture and dinner with one-on-one interactions with passengers. While visiting the island, beach and sports will be available, as well as a beach BBQ.
The Windstar cruise departs from Colon, Panama, on Mar. 5, 2016, and ends in Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica, on Mar. 12. Suites begin at $3,599 per person, with current sale prices starting from $2,299 per person.
