It may be early to be thinking about fall and jack-o-lanterns, but Highwood, Illinois, is already planning ahead for its annual Great Highwood Pumpkin Fest. During the three-day event, organizers aim to break the Guinness World Record for most jack-o-lanterns carved and lit at the same time – more than 30,500!
The seventh annual Great Highwood Pumpking Fest will also be raising money for the Make-A-Wish Illinois chapter, with a goal to grant 100 wishes to children with life-threatening diseases.
Held in Highwood, just outside of Chicago, the festival will take place October 7 to 9.
