Sun Valley Ski Resort in Idaho will reopen for the winter ski season on Nov. 24, 2016. Celebrating its 80th anniversary season, the country’s first ski resort is adding a new free ride program for kids, ages 6 to 17.
FreeRide, focused on developing high-quality, high-energy skills on ski and snowboard across a variety of terrain, will be offered each Saturday from Dec. 10, 2016 through March 2017. The program takes place on Dollar and Bald Mountains and includes gates, glades, bumps, jumps and terrain parks. Blackout dates will be Dec. 24 and Dec. 31, 2016, and Feb. 18, 2017.
